About FiveClose
Why I built it
I've spent my career in technology: selling software, then researching and teaching AI. Nightingaley is where I turn that toward a human problem: helping people notice fading relationships before loneliness sets in.
Most of us have a parent, a friend or a sibling who lives alone. We mean to call, then a week goes by, then a month. And if something happened to them, nobody might notice for days. FiveClose is a small, private circle that notices when someone goes quiet, so the right people reach out while there's still time.
What FiveClose is, and isn't
- A private circle for your closest people: no feed, no followers, no likes.
- Each person has a timer. Opening the app or tapping “I’m OK” restarts it. If someone goes quiet, their circle is asked to check on them.
- A parent can be set up on their own phone with no account and no password.
- Free, with no limit on people. FiveClose Plus is optional and adds AI import and circle metrics.
- No ads, and your data is never sold. How we handle your data.
- Not an emergency service: in an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Who makes it
FiveClose is made by Nightingaley Pte. Ltd., a social venture from Singapore. It is built as a business that earns its keep, so the mission can outlast any grant.
