FiveClose Trips: school trips and camps

A circle with an end date, for a school trip, a camp or a retreat of up to 30 days. A teacher or group leader sets it up and shares a join link or QR code; students join from their own phones. Free.

While it's on

• Roll call: an organiser taps "Call the roll". Students answer by tapping "I'm here", just by opening the app, or by poking the teacher; no QR code to scan. The organisers see who hasn't, and can download the log.
• Announcements, such as "Arrived at the hotel", reach everyone and the parents who follow.
• Parents follow their own child with a link the child sends: roll-call answers, announcements, and their child's spot if they share it. Never the other children.
• Everyone sees names only, never an email or number. A student's spot is sent only when they choose, seen only by the organisers, to about 1 km unless the student and a parent both agree.

When it ends

At the end time, roll calls, locations and parents' following stop. For a week, people can still ask to keep in touch; anyone who said yes both ways is in the other's own circle. Teens connect only with teens, adults with adults. A week before it is deleted the organisers get one email, and 30 days after the end the trip is deleted, roll-call log included.
