For teachers and group leaders
Run a school trip or camp from your phone: one join link, roll calls in a tap, and parents kept up to date without a parents' chat group. When it's over, it deletes itself. Free.
Trips and camps
- One link. Set up the trip with its dates (up to 30 days) and share a join link or QR code. Students join from their own phones. Joining closes when the trip starts, so a forwarded link lets nobody in later; you can open it again for a late student.
- Roll call. Tap Call the roll. Students answer by tapping I'm here, by poking you, or just by opening the app. You see who hasn't answered yet, and can download the log.
- Announcements such as "Arrived at the hotel" reach every student and the parents who follow.
- Parents follow their own child with a link the child sends. They see roll-call answers and announcements, never a location and never the other children.
Privacy you can explain to parents
- Everyone sees names only, never an email or phone number.
- You see where a student is only if they switch on "Let the organisers see where I am", only to about 100 metres, and only while the trip is on. Students never see each other's spots.
- Afterwards, students can ask to keep in touch with each other, and both have to say yes. A teacher and a student are never offered to each other.
- You get one email a week before the trip is deleted, so the school can download the roll-call log. 30 days after the end, everything goes, log included.
Between trips
- Study sessions. A class focus group puts phones face-down together before exams. Results name who made it ("4 of 5 made it"), never who didn't, and a weekly postcard of the group's yard, with no names, can go to the class chat.
- A class or club group. One QR code to join, a searchable list, and names hidden from the other joiners for anyone under 18.
Good to know
FiveClose is for ages 13 and up, so Trips suits secondary schools, colleges, universities, youth groups and adult groups. There's nothing to install from an app store: students open the link in their phone's browser. The school or organiser is responsible for any parental consent its own rules or local law require.
